NOTICE OF PROPERTY TAX INCREASE
The Polk County Board of Commissioners has tentatively adopted a 2026 millage rate which will require an increase in property tax by 18.48 percent.
All concerned citizens are invited to the public hearings on the tax increase to be held at the Commissioners Meeting Room, 73 Clines Ingram Jackson Road, Cedartown, GA on August 6, 2026, at 10:00 am and 6:00 pm.
Times and places of additional public hearings on this tax increase are at the Commissioners Meeting Room, 73 Clines Ingram Jackson Road, Cedartown, GA on August 13, 2026, at 4:00 pm.
This tentative increase will result in a millage rate of 8.500 mills, an increase of 1.326 mills. Without this tentative increase, the millage rate will be no more than 7.174 mills. The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $250,000 is approximately $129.95 and the proposed tax increase for non-homestead property with a fair market value of $150,000 is approximately $79.56.
The Polk County Board of Commissioners is scheduled to adopt the 2026 millage rate on August 13, 2026, at 5:15 pm.
