The Planning Commission of Polk County works diligently to guide the development and growth of our community, balancing progress with sustainability. By regulating land use and zoning standards, they help create a cohesive vision for residential, commercial, and public spaces. PLANNING AND ZONING BOARD MEETINGS:

The Planning Commission meets on the third Thursday of every month, unless there are no items on the agenda. Meetings are held at the Polk County Commissioners Meeting Room located at: 73 Clines Ingram Jackson Road, Cedartown, GA 30125.

UPCOMING ZONING CASES:

The Polk County Planning Commission will conduct a public meeting on September 17, 2026 at 6:00PM in the Polk County Board of Commissioners meeting room, located at 73 Clines Ingram Jackson Road, Cedartown, GA 30125.

The Planning Commission will review the following applications:
  • Case #: V26-09: 43 Rome Rd., Aragon  -- Applicant requests a tower setback and buffer requirements. The property is 1 acre.
  • Case #: SU26-06: 43 Rome Rd., Aragon -- Applicant requests a special-use permit for a telecommunications tower. The property is 1 acre.
  • Case #: Z26-15: 2617 Old Collard Valley Rd., Cedartown -- Applicant request a rezoning from A-1 to R-1. The property is 5.2 acres.
  • Case #: Z26-16: Tax Parcel: 030-032 (Eastview Baptist Church) -- Applicant requests a rezoning from A-1 to C-1. The property is 17.01 acres.

The Polk County Board of Commissioners will review the applications on October 6, 2026 at 5:15PM. The meeting will be held in the Commission Meeting Room, located at 73 Clines Ingram Jackson Road, Cedartown, GA 30125.
