The Planning and Zoning Board of Polk County works diligently to guide the development and growth of our community, balancing progress with sustainability. By regulating land use and zoning standards, they help create a cohesive vision for residential, commercial, and public spaces. PLANNING AND ZONING BOARD MEETINGS:

The Polk County Planning and Zoning Board meets on the third Thursday of every month unless there are no items on the agenda. Meetings are hosted at the Polk County Commissioners Meeting Room located at: 73 Clines Ingram Jackson Road, Cedartown, Ga 30125.

JANUARY PUBLIC NOTICES:

The Polk County Planning Commission will conduct a public meeting on January 15th, 2026 at 6:00PM in the Polk County Board of Commissioners meeting room, located at 73 Clines Ingram Jackson Road, Cedartown, GA 30125.

The Planning Commission will review the following applications:
  • Case #: V-26-01: Joseph Dewitt Croker requesting a variance for property located at 816 N. Bellview Rd. Aragon, GA 30104 (Tax Parcel: 047-172). The applicant requests a variance to rear setback. This property contains 3.63 acres.
  • Case #: Z-26-01: Hubert F Johnson III requesting to rezone property located at 496 Dry Creek Rd. Cedartown, GA 30125 (Tax Parcel: 018-008). The applicant is requesting to rezone the property from A-1 to R-1. This property contains 1 acres.
  • Case #: Z-26-02: Christopher Meyer requesting to rezone property located at 94 Wimberly Hill Loop. Cedartown, GA 30125 (Tax Parcel: 036-119). The applicant is requesting to rezone the property from A-1 to C-1. This property contains 3.27 acres.

Please contact the Polk County Planning & Zoning department at 770-749-2104 to receive more information on the applications mentioned above. The Polk County Board of Commissioners will review the applications on February 3rd, 2026 at 5:15PM. The meeting will be held in the Commission Meeting Room, located at 73 Clines Ingram Jackson Road, Cedartown, GA 30125. If you have any interest in the proposed rezoning, you are encouraged to attend the meetings as stated herein.
