The mission of the District Attorney's Office is to:

I just received a subpoena, what do I do?
Being summoned to court can be a very stressful and time-consuming experience. In the Tallapoosa Circuit District Attorney’s Office, we have professionally trained witness advocates, who can assist you through this process. In almost all cases, our office can put you on call, which will not require you to come to court unless necessary. Please call our office upon receipt of a subpoena.
I just received an impact statement, what do I do?
Being the victim of a crime can be a life-changing experience. That’s why, in the Tallapoosa Circuit District Attorney’s Office, we employ professionally trained victim advocates to walk with you through this trying process. Victim advocates can assist you with forms, court dates, restitution requests, and will be your direct connection to the prosecutor handling your case. Contact our office for more detailed information.
I am a victim and I don’t want to go forward with the case by requesting the warrants be dismissed, what do I do?
As the victim of a crime, you have the ability to request that the prosecutor not go forward with the charges against a defendant. However, the ultimate decision in prosecution is left to Assistant District Attorney assigned to the case. To request charges to be dropped, the victim must come in-person to the office of the District Attorney, fill out a request to dismiss form and bring government issued identification. Once again, the ultimate decision in prosecution is at the District Attorney’s discretion.
I have been charged with a crime in Superior Court, how do I find my court date?

If you have obtained an attorney to assist you in your case, we cannot speak to you regarding any aspect of your case. We strongly recommend that all defendants seek the advice of an attorney.

Due to privacy, the District Attorney can only provide information involving cases actual defendant. We cannot provide information to a defendant’s family member or friend. 

I have been charged with a crime and I want to talk to the prosecutor.
The Office of the District Attorney strongly encourages all defendants to seek legal advice from a trained attorney. If you have retained an attorney to assist you in your case, we can only speak to your attorney. If you are not represented by an attorney and wish to speak to the prosecutor, you may call our office and request to speak to the assigned Assistant District Attorney.
